DOST-FPRDI hosts Bamboo Forum

Cabangon, DOST-FPRDI researcher, talk about “Marketing of Bamboo and its By-Products” and “FPRDI’s Bamboo Processing and Utilization Technologies”, respectively, at the Bamboo Forum of the recently concluded 2015 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) celebration.

Around 270 participants attended the event which highlighted bamboo as a viable material for the growth of sustainable community-based enterprises nationwide.

Other experts who spoke in the forum were Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau’s For. Gregorio Santos, Jr. for bamboo plantation establishment; Filbamboo Exponents, Inc. President and COO Atty. Dulce Blanca Punzalan for bamboo food and beverages; and DOST-Technology Application and Promotion Institute’s Engr. Edgar Garcia for funding support bamboo projects. (Rizalina K.
