The DOST-FPRDI mourns the passing of its former Deputy Director, Forester Felix B. Tamolang. He was 65 years old.

Tamolang rose from the ranks since joining the agency in 1980. As a junior researcher, he contributed to R&D studies on the physico-mechanical properties of forest trees, as well as the optimum and sustainable use of Philippine timbers and tree plantation species.

He was later assigned to the Technical Services Staff (TSS) where he served for many years as Section Chief, then later as TSS Chief.

Under his leadership, the Institute fortified its linkages with the local forest-based industries, resulting in the accelerated adoption of DOST-FPRDI technologies. He pushed for improved techno-delivery services to better meet the needs of various clients.

As Deputy Director, he was known as a diligent administrator who continually encouraged the men and women of the Institute to give their best effort at work.
