Engr. Edward Paul S. Marasigan performs the drop test on a furniture package intended for export, the first transit testing service performed by the FPRDI National Furniture Testing Center (FNFTC).

FNTC’s Transit Testing Laboratory is certified by the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) and aims to help ensure that transported furniture and other types of products reach their destination intact. This is critical as importers usually ask producers to have their packaging materials transit-tested first by an ISTA-approved lab.

The fourth of its kind in the Philippines, the lab performs tests that simulate how a product and its packaging will behave during transport thru land, air and sea, as well as pinpoint possible problems the package may meet during shipping. (Rizalina K. Araral, 26 June 2015)#
