FPRDI staff obtain graduate degrees

The Forest Products Research and Development Institute-DOST now has 13 PhD and 42 MS degree holders, as three staff members completed their graduate studies last April.

Mr. Loreto A. Novicio, Senior Science Research Specialist at the Institute’s Planning Staff, now holds a doctorate degree in Education, major in Educational Management and minor in Agricultural Extension from the Cavite State University. Novicio’s major courses included strategic planning, strategic human resource management, institutional resource management, organizational finance management, and advanced research methods.

Likewise, a Science Research Specialist II at the Technology Innovation Division’s Bio-energy and Equipment Development Section, Engr. Amando Allan M. Bondad, earned his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, major in Production Technology from the Technological University of the Philippines. His thesis is titled “Development of a semi-mechanized handmade paper dryer”.

Ms. Rizza F. Welgas, meanwhile, graduated from the Laguna College with the degree of Masters in Business Management. Welgas is an Accountant II at the Finance and Administrative Division’s Accounting Section. ### (Apple Jean C. Martin, 02 May 2013)
