FPRDI trains Pangasinan rice farmers

Twenty-seven farmers and two local government unit (LGU) staff attended the recent trainingon bamboo handicraft production which was initiated by the Local Government of San Nicolas under the Bottoms-Up Budgeting Project of the Department of Trade and Industry(DTI), with the help of Pangasinan’s DOST- Provincial Science and Technology Center.
According to San Nicolas Mayor Rebecca Mejica-Saldivar the three-day course which covered raw material preparation and finishing has opened up additional livelihood options for the farmers especially during their downtime, after they have planted and harvested rice.
