To maintain its five-year accreditation with the International Standards Organization (ISO), the FPRDI Pulp and Paper Testing Laboratory (FPPTL) was given a make-over last year. It was repainted and retiled, and fitted with more tables and lighting fixtures. New equipment were acquired, including a particle size and stability analyzer with an image analysis sensor.
Likewise, the FFPTL’s Technical Operations Procedure, Document Control Forms and Work Instructions for measuring chemical properties of paper were prepared, and the procedures validated against ISO methods.
Along with the furniture and plywoood testing laboratories, the FFPTL is one among three FPRDI facilities recognized by their respective client industries as national testing centers.
They are furnished with state-of-the-art equipment and manned by personnel who are able to provide reliable test data delivered on time. As part of their ISO 17025:2005 accreditation, the quality, administrative and technical procedures governing the laboratories’ operations undergo continuousl improvement. (Rizalina K.
