FPRDI marks 59th year

DOST-FPRDI Director Dr. Romulo T. Aggangan is all smiles as he speaks before employees during the closing of the Institute’s recent Team Building.
The activity was among the highlights of the 59th FPRDI Anniversary Celebration last July 4-8, 2016. Other anniversary highlights included the 10th F.N. Tamolang Technical Poster Competition and the giving of Service and Recognition Awards.
During the Anniversary Program, Dr. Aggangan urged the FPRDI family to give its full support to the priority programs of the new DOST Secretary, Prof. Fortunato T. dela Pena, in line with the 10-point socio-economic agenda of President Rodrigo R. Duterte.
According to Dr. Aggangan, Sec. dela Pena’s top programs include: focus on region-based R&D programs; increasing the use of research outputs and technical expertise to push for growth in the countryside; capability-building (enhancing human resources and modernizing research facilities); and tapping available resources from the private sector and DOST’s “Balik Scientists”.
