For the second time in two years, the DOST- Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) has bagged a high level accreditation from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The certification for Level II maturity was given after the Institute passed the CSC’s evaluation of its Human Resource Management’s system, practices and competencies.

Maturity level indicates “how well the behaviors and processes of an organization can reliably and sustainably produce required outcomes”. Agencies with Level II accreditation enjoy certain privileges such as the authority to take final action on appointments.

According to Ms. Fe P. Frialde of DOST-FPRDI’s Human Resource Management Section, the Institute was evaluated based on four core competencies: Recruitment; Selection and Placement; Rewards and Recognition; Performance Management; and Learning and Development.

“This is the second time that the Institute was awarded with Level II certification,” said Frialde. “This only shows FPRDI’s commitment in improving its human resource system to be more efficient and responsive to its clients’ needs,” she ended.

The accreditation was part of the CSC’s Enhanced Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM). PRIME-HRM aims to recognize agencies that are successful in addressing developmental gaps in their human resource systems, practices and competencies. It hopes to elevate the country’s human resource management standard to a level at par with global HRM standards. ### (Apple Jean C. Martin- de Leon, 28 February 2019)
