Thirty-six (36) Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) staff beamed with pride as they successfully “sold” their technologies last 31 May 2019. The Technology Pitch Day was organized by the DOST- Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) and the DOST- Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD).

The event concludes the 17-day Technology Commercialization Mentorship Series under the program “Developing the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) Operations of Consortia Member Agencies-Batch 2”. The program is being led by the DOST-FPRDI, with Ms. Grecelda A. Eusebio as the program leader.

According to Eusebio, “The DOST hopes to strengthen the capacities of IP-TBM offices in state universities and colleges (SUCs) and research and development institutions (RDIs). Among others, the program intends to drumbeat the technology transfer and commercialization of these agencies, and intensify linkages with various offices on intellectual property protection and management.”

For DOST-FPRDI, Ms. Sarahme B. Esteban, Mr. Carl O. Lantican and Mr. Pedrito Q. Lontok presented the Ecodryer, Wine Barrel from Santol, and Multi-Purpose Double Acting Hot Press technologies, respectively; with the last two mentioned placing 1st and 2nd in the Best Poster competition.
