The DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) management and the FPRDI Employees Association (FPRDIEA) representatives finalized and signed the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) for 2019-2022 last 6 September 2019.

The CNA covers the benefit programs for rank-and-file employees; health, safety and work environment regulations; opportunities for professional growth; grievance machinery; and CNA incentive, among others.

According to FPRDIEA President For. Moreno L. Santander, Jr., one of the salient features of the CNA is the “provision for emergency response and first aid assistance to FPRDI employees in cases of accidents and untoward incidents in the workplace”.

Prior to its approval, the solicited views of the employees were discussed during the Collective Negotiations Committee (CNC) meetings on September 2 and 5, 2019. After agreeing with the provisions, the document was forwarded to FPRDI Director Romulo T. Aggangan who reviewed and approved the CNA.

Its ratification will be done during the FPRDIEA General Assembly on 18 September 2019. After which, it will be registered at the Civil Service Commission.

The CNC is composed of representatives from the DOST-FPRDI management represented by Deputy Director Felix B. Tamolang, and Division Chiefs Dr. Dwight A. Eusebio and Mr. Miguel C. Herrera; and FPRDIEA represented by its Board of Directors, For. Moreno L. Santander Jr., Mr. Noel M. Medrano and Mr. Daniel M. Javier. Ms. Sarahme Corazon B.
