The DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) was recently conferred the PRIME-HRM Bronze Award (2019-2020) by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The award was given after DOST-FPRDI fulfilled the Level 2 maturity on four core Human Resources Management (HRM) Systems: Recruitment; Selection and Placement; Rewards and Recognition; Performance Management; and Learning and Development. The Institute has received the Level 2 accreditation for two consecutive years already.

The DOST-FPRDI and the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIERRD) were among the DOST agencies to receive the PRIME-HRM Bronze Award.

Maturity level indicates “how well the behaviors and processes of an organization can reliably and sustainably produce required outcomes”. Agencies with Level 2 maturity enjoy certain privileges such as the authority to take final action on appointments.

“The award is a testament to FPRDI’s commitment in making its HRM System more responsive to the needs of its clients. We vow to continuously improve our processes to progress to the next higher level,” said Arene A. Quiambao, Chief of FPRDI’s Human Resources Management Section.

The Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) aims to transform government agencies’ human resources management systems, competencies and practices to a level at par with global HRM standards. Along with 17 other agencies, DOST-FPRDI is set to receive the Plaque of Award this September. ### (Apple Jean C. Martin- de Leon, 17 September 2020)
