The DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) was recognized with the Highest ScienceDirect Usage Award during the 2021 DOST-Elsevier Awards.
The Institute won under the Research and Development Institute (RDI), and the DOST-Science Education Institute and DOST Region II under the S&T Institutes and Regional Office categories, respectively.
This means that among DOST's RDIs, DOST-FPRDI researchers were the most frequent users of Elsevier in 2021.
Elsevier is the world’s largest scientific publisher of peer-reviewed journals and articles. ScienceDirect, meanwhile, is the “largest platform dedicated for peer-reviewed scientific and medical researches”, and is Elsevier’s “leading information solution for researchers, teachers, students, healthcare professionals and information professionals.”
“Science-based researched and science-backed decisions are critical especially in these trying times. While we navigate our way through the new normal, we wish to increase the numbers of our partner intuitions who will use Elsevier in whatever science breakthroughs they will do in the future,” said DOST-PCIEERD Executive Director Dr. Enrico C. Paringit in an article published in Scitech and Digital News.
“We are grateful to DOST and PCIEERD for partnering with Elsevier and allowing the science community to use ScienceDirect. The resources have been helpful in producing comprehensive scientific literature for our researches and other R&D work,” said DOST-FPRDI Director Dr. Romulo T. Aggangan.
