It’s the time of the year for DOST!

The Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) started to roll throughout the country once again. Joining the RSTW in the SOCCSKSARGEN region is the DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) represented by Deputy Director Rico J. Cabangon.

During the S&T Summit at General Santos City, Cabangon presented the Institute’s sustainable products, technologies, and services that highlight DOST-FPRDI’s efforts in helping create sustainable forest-based industries.

Technical consultancy services were also provided to the Mahintana Foundation of Polomolok, South Cotabato and the Bureau of Jail Management and Phenology of Malapatan, Saranggani Province on charcoal and charcoal briquettes; and Green Workers Corporation of Kidapawan City on engineered bamboo processing.

“Hopefully, we were able to give substantial information to our stakeholders in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region. We hope to provide more assistance thru other RSTW celebrations in the country, and during the National Science and Technology Week on November 23-27, 2022,” said Cabangon.

Bannering the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya Kabalikat at Maunlad at Matatag na kinabukasan”, the RSTW organized by DOST XII aimed to share “efforts and updates on wealth protection and sustainability among science enthusiasts.” It also gave emphasis on Science, Technology and Innovation strongly anchored on Sustainable Development Goals. ### (Apple Jean C.
