Six DOST-FPRDI staff are now more ready to help the Institute protect its intellectual property (IP) and commercialize its technologies.
The following staff recently completed their respective Masterclasses and Mentorship under the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program:
- Intellectual Property – Mr. Rodell A. Papa and Ms. Melvie C. Emprese
- Technology Commercialization – Ms. Maria C. Reyes and Ms. Ronelia O. Lalap
- Agribusiness - Ms. Maria C. Reyes and Ms. Ronelia O. Lalap
- Technology Promotion – Ms. Apple Jean M. De Leon and Ms. Margie B. Dizon
RAISE is a program of STAARRDEC, a group of state universities and colleges, and research and development institutes working in the agri-aqua and natural resources sector in the Southern Tagalog Region. It is part of a national network of R&D consortia headed by DOST’s Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD).
According to Dr. Maria Cielito G. Siladan, Chief of DOST-FPRDI’s Technical Services Division, “Our participation in RAISE means we can look forward to a more effective and efficient system for managing our IP, as well as promoting and commercializing our technologies.”
For the Technology Promotion Mentorship Series, Ms. De Leon’s video pitch and poster on the FPRDI Non-Wood Moisture Meter were named among the outstanding outputs, along with Ms. Dizon’s pitch on FPRDI’s Wastewater Treatment Equipment for the Finishing Spray Booth.
The RAISE Masterclasses and Mentorship was conducted under the DOST-PCAARRD-funded project “Enhancing the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) in FPRDI”. (Rizalina K. Araral & Rodell A. Papa, 05 December 2022)###
