Davao City Congressman eyes FPRDI technologies

A possible collaboration is eyed between the Office of Rep. Isidro T. Ungab, Davao City’s 3rd District Representative, and the Forest Products Research and Development Institute (FPRDI) after a consultative meeting last 05 February 2014 at the House of Representatives in Quezon City. Rep. Ungab also chairs the House Appropriations Committee of the 16th Congress which oversees the entire budgeting process in the Lower House.

“Rep. Ungab sees our technologies as opportunities to create jobs for his constituents in Davao. He is interested in the Institute’s bamboo veneer lathe, kiln drying and skeletonized leaves technologies, and has suggested we hold a forum with their local agro-forest based industries to determine which FPRDI technologies and technical services will suit them best,” said FPRDI Deputy Director Felix B. Tamolang.

Also present during the meeting were Ms. Mildred M. Fidel, Ms. Grecelda A. Eusebio and Ms. Maria C. Reyes of FPRDI’s Technical Services Division, and Ms. Maria Cristina Tuano, Rep. Ungab’s Chief of Staff. ### (Apple Jean C. Martin, 06 March 2014)
