For the second time in two years, the DOST- Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) has bagged a high level accreditation from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The certification for Level II maturity was given after the Institute passed the CSC’s evaluation of its Human Resource Management’s system, practices and competencies.

Two researchers from the DOST- Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) are involved in a project meant to consolidate the database of timber species being traded in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Fernando C. Pitargue Jr. and For. Glenn B. Estudillo are the Philippine representatives to the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM)- led project “Equivalent Timber Names in the ASEAN”, which hopes to gather information— such as trade names, common names and locations— of various timber species in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Rodell A. Papa received the Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines Model Librarian: Emerging Leaders Series Award during the association's 65th general assembly last 23 January 2019 at the Kalayaan Hall, Malacañang Palace, San Miguel, Manila.
