The DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) team recently attended the Bamboo Processing Industry Consultation Meeting in Naawan, Misamis Oriental and Iligan City.
DOST-FPRDI Deputy Director Dr. Rico J. Cabangon and former DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations Dr. Florentino O. Tesoro provided technical suggestions on how to improve local engineered bamboo (e-bamboo) processing to be able to compete with imported counterparts.

It’s the time of the year for DOST!
The Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) started to roll throughout the country once again. Joining the RSTW in the SOCCSKSARGEN region is the DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) represented by Deputy Director Rico J. Cabangon.
During the S&T Summit at General Santos City, Cabangon presented the Institute’s sustainable products, technologies, and services that highlight DOST-FPRDI’s efforts in helping create sustainable forest-based industries.
Technical consultancy services were also provided to the Mahintana Foundation of Polomolok, South Cotabato and the Bureau of Jail Management and Phenology of Malapatan, Saranggani Province on charcoal and charcoal briquettes; and Green Workers Corporation of Kidapawan City on engineered bamboo processing.
