Various key players in the local essential oils industry gathered in an online consultative dialogue organized by the DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) last 21 September 2022.

Themed “Investing on the Science, Economics and Sustainability for the Inclusive Growth of the Philippine Essential Oils Industry”, the event underscored the current status of the sector, and covered issues on the production, processing and marketing of essential oils, among others.

Expect sweeter music from DOST-FPRDI with trained staff on musical instrument-making.

Twenty-five employees of DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) were trained on classical guitar-making by Maestro Adolfo Toyoda Timuat, an internationally renowned flamenco guitarist. Timuat has toured around many countries to teach instrument playing and making, and owns guitar shops in Cebu and in Spain.

Recognized by guitar masters of Spain as “guitarista de concierto, compositor, professor, y investigador”, Filipino-Japanese Maestro Adolfo Toyoda Timuat has hand-built more than 500 guitars.
